First Nippers Day @ Garie SLSC on Sunday 13th October 2019 @ 9.30am
Join Nippers on Garie Beach this season!
Garie Surf Life Saving Clubs Junior Development Team organise nippers to run during the Surf Life Saving NSW Life Saving Season
The aim of the Nippers Programme is to provide a safe, happy environment where children aged 5-13 can learn important Surf Awarness Skills, develop confidence, and most of
all, have fun with friends and family.
Our volunteers work with parents to, not only develop the childrens confidence and awareness whilst in and around the water, but develop life savers for the future.
Garie Nippers regularly progress to become qualified life savers, and now patrol our beach. The structured SLSA Surf Education Plan administered by our Volunteers helps prepare young people for their Surf Rescue Certificate and Bronze Medallion awards. as well as other pathways within Surf Life Saving Australia.
Surf Sports are a fun way to develop life saving skills. Our nippers enjoy participating in flag races, beach sprints, long distance runs and age
appropriate wading, swimming and board paddling races.
Garie Nippers also have the opportunity to compete against other clubs in both friendly and competitive championship Surf Sports Carnivals.
Garie Nippers meet throughout the SLSA Surf Season, with the occasional twilight picnic, SleepOver and other social events with other clubs.
